Fashion event to aid UPAWS
MARQUETTE – The second annual Summer Fashion Show will be held April 6 at the Vera Bar, 145 W. Washington St., Marquette. All event proceeds will benefit the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter.
The silent auction/raffles, hors d’oeuvres and wine tasting presentation will begin at 6 p.m. The Fashion Show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $25 per person and are available for purchase at Che Bello on Washington Street in Marquette. This event is for ages 21 and older.

Gardening conference at Bay
DELTA COUNTY – Registration is under way for the 2013 Bay de Noc Gardening Conference slated for April 13. The Delta County Master Gardener Association will offer its annual all-day conference for gardeners at the Besse Center of Bay College this year. The conference, which qualifies for Master Gardener educational credit, is open to anyone with an interest in gardening and to gardeners of all skill levels. Preregistration is required by April 2.
The keynote speaker will be Mark Dwyer, director of horticulture at the Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville, Wis. In his presentation “Best of the Best: New Perennials and Annuals for the Garden,” Dwyer will identify and discuss the merits of some of new and improved varieties of ornamentals.
The cost of $35 per person includes the keynote address and three classes, as well as morning refreshments and lunch. Only prepaid registrations will be accepted. An additional charge of $7 applies to the make-and-take class.

Probus Superiorland to meet

Messiah offers monthly meal
