Northern Michigan swimmers begin competition at NCAA Championship meet
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Northern Michigan University swimming and diving team had two swimmers compete in the first day of the NCAA Championship at the Crossplex Complex, with sophomore Madisen Sechena having the higher finish.
She placed 27th in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:07.16, while freshman Crystal Bennet was 49th in the 50 freestyle in 24.21 seconds. The pair get back to action today with Sechena in the 400 IM and Bennet in the 100 butterfly. Sophomore teammate Molly Kearney also dives today after qualifying for both events on Tuesday.
