Superior Central boys can’t overcome Carney-Nadeau’s big two scorers
EBEN – Keenan Lampinen and Wade Schetter combined to score 50 points to lead Carney-Nadeau to a 62-55 victory over Superior Central in a high school boys basketball game played Monday.
Lampinen scored 28 points and Schetter 22 as the Wolves turned a 9-9 first-quarter tie into a 23-20 halftime lead and 45-36 advantage after three quarters.
“We came out pretty flat and lacked energy and urgency,” said SC coach Herb Jenkins, whose team played its final home game of the season.
Senior Tyler Kienitz led the Cougars (11-7, 6-3 Central Upper Peninsula Conference) with 16 points and six rebounds, while fellow seniors Trevor Maki and Daniel Steward added 13 points apiece. Maki also had three assists and two steals, while Steward pulled in five rebounds.
