TriMedia Squirt AA takes second in District 8

MARQUETTE – A 7-1 win over the Keweenaw Storm on Feb. 3 gave the TriMedia Squirt AA hockey team second place in the District 8 playoffs.

Cooper Anderson led the way with two goals and two assists. Jacob Peterson added two markers, while Brayden Stannard contributed a goal and two assists.

Joseph Luke chipped in a goal and an assist; Hogan Nemetz a goal; Ethan Sellers three assists; and Andrew Fedrizzi had an assist. Preston Maki made 17 saves in goal for TriMedia.

On Feb. 1, Maki made 27 saves in a 2-1 loss to the Calumet Kings. Fedrizzi scored the lone goal for the Sentinels with assists going to Cooper Anderson and Sellers.

The Calumet Kings also defeated the Storm on Saturday 7-0 to win the playoffs and represent District 8 in the state championship March 15-17 in Trenton.
