Clyde M. Magnuson Sr.

FORT WORTH, Texas – Clyde M. Magnuson Sr., 81, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013.

Clyde was born Sept. 22, 1931, in National Mine, Mich. and grew up in Republic, Mich. He joined the U.S. Air Force on 1951 when he met the love of his life, Clara, while stationed at Goose Bay, Labrador. He served in the Korea-Vietnam War. Clyde retired from active duty in 1972, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant.

Clyde worked at All Saints Episcopal School as Grounds Supervisor for 17 years. “Mr. Clyde” was known and loved by many students, parents and friends of All Saints. He was awarded the Saint of the Year Award in 2009.

Following retirement from All Saints Episcopal School, Clyde enjoyed travelling with his wife, taking care of roses and spending time with his family. Clyde was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church for over 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eva Magnuson; and by one son, Douglas Magnuson.

Clyde is survived by his Wife, Clara; son, Clyde Maurice Magnuson Jr.; daughters, Sandra Humphrey and husband, Ken, and Cindy Cano; grandchildren, Stephanie Cano, Alicia Barela, Matthew Cano, Douglas Humphrey, Steven Cano Jr. and Alexandria Cano; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald and Raymond Magnuson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in All Saints Episcopal Church. Interment will be at Greenwood Memorial Park.
