Crystal A. Robinette

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Crystal A. Robinette, age 96, of Marquette, and former Big Bay resident, entered eternal life Thursday evening, January 31, 2013, at the Norlite Nursing Center.

Crystal was born July 22, 1916 in Hardwood, a daughter of Louis and Emma (Peronto) Siegler. On September 4, 1937, she married Harvey Robinette and the couple resided in Hardwood, Big Bay, and Iron Mountain before moving to the Marquette area in 1952. For over 18 years, Crystal was employed as a clerk with Angeli’s Super Value until her retirement. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and playing cribbage, but especially loved taking care of her grandchildren and attending their events. Crystal was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and had belonged to several cribbage leagues over the years.

Survivors include her daughters, Marlene (John) McCullah of Marquette and Leona (Dale) Phelps of Sparta, IL; her grandchildren, James and Kenneth (Darlene) Phelps, and Dayle Ann Morgan; great-grandchildren, Robert Morais, Stephanie (Ryan) Valleroy, Dale, Michael, Jonathan, and Andrew Phelps, and Emily Morgan; great great-granddaughter, Olivia Valleroy; her sisters, Rosella Brozak of Iron River and Violet Kossmann of California; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Crystal was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Robinette; son-in-law, Elmer “Gus” Morais; granddaughter, Diane Morais; sisters, Myrtle and husband, Mike McGuire, Ruby and husband, Henry Cousineau, Garnet and husband, Leonard Moore; and brothers-in-law, Mike Brozak and Otto Kossmann; and brothers, Elmer Siegler and wife, Wilhemina, and Louis Siegler and wife, Laura.

Friends may call at St. Michael Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 5, beginning at 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in the church with Rev. Larry Van Damme, pastor, as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Kenneth and James Phelps, Robert Morais, and Donald Charlevoix. A reception will follow in the St. Michael Parish Center. Spring burial will be made in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the Activity Fund at the Norlite Nursing Center.
