To the Journal editor:
This past week, Pro-Life marches and rallies took place in America marking the 40th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion on demand.
Jan. 25 in Washington D.C., 500,000 people participated in the March for Life. Jan. 26 in San Francisco, over 50,000 attended the West Coast March for Life.
Did you read about these events in the newspaper or hear about them on the national news? This may not be newsworthy to the people who decide what makes news, but it is important to those of us who care about the 55 million innocent babies whose lives were taken and to their mothers whose lives have been forever affected.
After 40 years, data has shown that abortion hurts not only babies but their mothers, fathers, families, society and our very culture.
I wasn’t able to attend the march this year, but I thank those who did make the effort to go and make their voices heard. While the participants marched, they prayed.
They prayed not only for all the women who have been hurt by the tragedy of abortion, but also for the men who fathered the children who have been lost. If you are pregnant and need help or you have experienced an abortion and need assistance with the aftermath, there is help out there if you want it.
