Eric W. Mason

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Eric W. Mason, age 39, of Marquette, entered eternal life Wednesday, January 30, 2013, as the result of an automobile accident near Seney.

Eric was born August 31, 1973, in Ishpeming, a son of Bill and Jan (Anderson) Mason. He was raised in West Ishpeming and attended Westwood High School where he participated in wresting and football, graduating in 1992. He enrolled at Northern Michigan University and was an outstanding student at the University’s Walker L. Cisler College of Business from where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. For over 16 years, Eric served as executive sales representative for Lilly Pharmaceutical, traversing the Upper Peninsula each week to visit doctors, medical centers, and hospitals. He loved his job as it afforded him the opportunity to work in the “backyard of where he grew up.” He loved the people of the UP and excelled at serving his customers while working in a largely rural market. He possessed a strong work ethic, for which he credited his parents, and was very generous with his time and talent. He, in general, loved being a “Yooper.” Armed with a quick sense of humor, he was often the life of the party and had the ability to make anyone laugh. He enjoyed hunting, collecting rocks and baseball cards, loved to sing, play his guitar, and was known for his great impersonations. His true passion and love, however, was his family. He was extremely devoted to them and long days were forgotten when he arrived home to the love and comfort of his wife and children.

A loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, Eric is survived by his wife, Kellie (Reynolds), his children, Connor, Camron, Hannah, Preslie; his parents, Bill and Jan Mason; brother, Brad (Jessica) Mason and their children, Carter, Jordon, and Lexi; bother, Dan (Charity) Mason and their children, Colin, Ella, and Lilia; in-laws, Bud and Linda Reynolds; sister-in-law, Jodi Reynolds; aunt, Carol (Richard) Giotto; uncles, Gary, Jack, and Mark (Tricia) Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Bernice Mason, Eugene and Dorothy Anderson; an uncle and aunt, Bruce and Sharon Anderson.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Wednesday, February 6, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. The Rev. Chad Ott will officiate and a reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Eric Mason Memorial established through the Trust Department at Northern Michigan Bank.
