Folk dance slated at Fortune Lake
CRYSTAL FALLS – Chicago-based folk singer Mark Dvorak will be the featured guest at the Second Sunday Folk Dance at 4 p.m. Feb.10 in Crystal Falls. Hosts Bette and Dean Premo (White Water) will perform a short set along with Carrie, Emma and Susan Dlutkowski.
After the concert, snacks and beverages will be served and the dance part of the evening begins with Bette Premo & The Front Parlor Dance Band playing tunes and providing dance instruction until 7 p.m. Fiddler Bob Arthur will lead an Old-time Music Jam Session starting at 1 p.m. at the Dining Hall. Admission is $7/adult and children under 15 are free.

‘First 70’ screening at library
MARQUETTE – The Upper Peninsula Land Conservancy will sponsor an environmental film titled “The First 70” from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 11 in the Peter White Library Community Room. A brief presentation on land conservancies will follow the film. For information, call 225-8067.
3-D program at Messiah
MARQUETTE – Transition Marquette County will present “Marquette’s 3-D Past, Present and Future,” at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 in Magnuson Hall at Messiah Lutheran Church, 305 W. Magnetic St. in Marquette.
Featured will be a 3-D slide show by Jack Deo showing Marquette’s past, along with a conversation about implications for Marquette’s future.
