Music co-op has new ex. director

MARQUETTE – Susan Divine has been named executive director of the Hiawatha Music Co-op.

Divine comes to HMC following her retirement from a career in the mental health field. She and her husband Jim, their three children and other family members have been attending the Hiawatha Music Festival since 1987.

She replaces Maggie Morgan who retired after 12 years as executive director, which is longer than any other director and for nearly a third of time HMC has been in existence.

Morgan was honored at the HMC board at the recent annual meeting of the organization, and was presented with a custom designed sculpture that depicts her playing her bass in the woods.

The organization also elected officers at its January meeting. Included are: Sue Bertram of Marquette, president; Doug Kitchel of Marquette, vice president; Steve Nelson of Marquette, treasurer; and Erin Leahy Putvin of Deerton, secretary.

Other board members are Mike Fitzpatrick, Heidi Stevenson, Julie Foster-Lindquist and Gene Bertram.
