Police: City meth lab busted
MARQUETTE – Marquette City Police Department officials said officers responded Tuesday to an apartment in the city, along with Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team detectives, where components from a methamphetamine lab were found.
Police went to 1950 Presque Isle Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, after maintenance workers discovered the possible meth lab, while doing work in an apartment. Upon arrival, police confirmed the items found were from a meth lab, which was not active at the time.
UPSET detectives trained in handling and disposal procedures for the dangerous byproducts associated with meth lab cleanups collected the items, police said.
Possible suspects have been identified and the investigation into the incident is continuing, according to police.
