“We’re a butcher shop. We can cut your meat or get you what you want just by asking,” said Smokehouse Glenn owner Glenn Andrews. “You can’t get that from a supermarket because you have to get what’s in the case.”
Smokehouse Glenn currently makes 14 flavors of jerky, four snack sticks, two summer sausages, 21 fresh sausages, four smoked sausages and seven flavors of bacon-all made in-house.
“I cure and smoke my own bacon,” Glenn said. “How many people can say they do that?”
Glenn has over 40 years of experience with meats which really shows and is just one more reason Smokehouse Glenn is the place to go for your top notch meats. He started in the sausage and ham business when he was 17 years old.
Glenn provides customers the best beef, pork, chicken and seafood around. He sells Chairman’s Reserve Certified Premium Beef, the only place in the U.P. that does.
“I’ve checked out a lot of meat suppliers and Chairman’s Reserve is just the best,” Glenn said. “I guarantee it.”

Spicy Jo’s is a shop located within Smokehouse Glenn, where bland is banned. Spicy Jo can help you figure out what the best flavors are for any meal, especially Glenn’s meats.
Spicy Jo offers 18 different flavored olive oils and eight different balsamic vinegars, as well an array of spices and spice blends to liven things up in your kitchen. The olive oils are extra virgin and cold pressed and made in the United States.
“They are great for marinades, cooking with, salads or to use with the balsamic vinegars,” Spicy Jo said.
Balsamic vinegars are a great meat tenderizer and are even good on ice cream. Spicy Jo’s balsamic vinegars are unique in being that they aren’t sold anywhere else in the U.P.
“I wanted to bring these ingredients into our area,” Spicy Jo said.
When it comes to the spice blends, Spicy Jo works with several different companies to make unique spices that are blended to order. If you don’t know what type of spice you’re looking for, she can point you in the right direction and allow you to sample any spice before you buy it.
