Student accused of having knife
CARNEY (AP) – The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office reports a seventh-grader brought an 8-inch butcher’s knife to the Carney-Nadeau school this week.
The student at the school was taken into custody Wednesday. That morning, Menominee County sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Helfert took a call from the school at 8:33 a.m. that a student brought a knife to school and told some students he was going to kill another student.
Upon the officer’s arrival, staff members had located the student and secured him in an office, according to police.
The case will be forwarded to the Menominee County prosecutor’s office.
