Cliffs calendar art winners named

Ishpeming – The artwork of children and grandchildren of Cliffs Natural Resources employees in Michigan is displayed on Cliff’s 20th annual Kids’ for Safety Calendar.

Winning pieces of art are shown for each month for the 2013 calendar, which is sponsored by the operations’ safety department.

The contest was open to the children and grandchildren of all employees at the Tilden and Empire mines, the employees of the LS&I railroad transportation division and Cliffs Technology Center in Ishpeming.

“Safety is an important part of our day-to-day operations. We want our employees and their families to remember to incorporate safety not only at work, but also at home,” said James Kochevar, general manager, Cliffs Michigan operations. “This calendar is a daily reminder of the importance of all aspects of safety and we’re pleased to share it with our employees, families and friends.”
